Art Direction: The Atrium

THE ATRIUM PHOTO SHOOT

The Atrium was the first of many iconic building built on campus in the last five years. I was tasked with art directing a photo shoot that would capture iconic day and night images of The Atrium. After researching the many angles from which this building could best be captured, as well as taking sample photos of where the sunlight fell on the building in late summer, I hired a local photographer, G. Steve Jordan, to work with me to get just the right images. Using twenty student volunteers, one massive bucket truck, and three facility workers (to turn off/on appropriate lighting), we managed to get the iconic day and night shots. Both images have been widely used on billboards, buses, marketing brochures and websites.
